Gear up for fun! What happens when gears are connected? Do they rotate together, at the same speed, or in the same direction? Does it even matter how they touch each other? Students will discover these answers, and more, with Challenge 1 ( Session 1 ): Design and build a moving sculpture with gears and pulleys. Students will start tinkering with gears and pulleys and then create their own amazing designs for the engineering challenges. Challenge 2 ( Offered in Session 2 ): design and engineer your own Sail Car to go the furthest distance or fastest speed. There is no one solution and every design will go through tests and have a chance to be improved!
